“I haven't really slept.”
Rest coverage and gentle newborn support can create breathing room during exhausting days and nights.
You prepared for the birth. Who is caring for you afterward? Thoughtful, hands-on postpartum support so you can rest, recover, bond with your baby, and feel held through the fourth trimester.
THE OFTEN-OVERLOOKED FOURTH TRIMESTER
Recovery doesn't stop when you leave the hospital. Your body is healing, your routines are changing, and you're learning an entirely new rhythm—often on very little sleep. You shouldn't have to manage all of it alone.
Rest coverage and gentle newborn support can create breathing room during exhausting days and nights.
Nonjudgmental emotional check-ins, space to be heard, and connections to professional care when needed.
Calm, practical newborn and feeding education that builds confidence without adding pressure.
Meals, light household help, and family logistics so your attention can return to recovery and connection.
Postpartum care should be an ongoing process, with support tailored to each family's physical, social, and psychological needs.
Based on ACOG guidance on optimizing postpartum care ↗WHAT A POSTPARTUM DOULA ACTUALLY DOES
A postpartum doula is a nonmedical professional who supports your transition into parenthood—caring for the parent as well as the baby, with guidance and practical help shaped around your family.
Newborn care, parent rest coverage, soothing support, and thoughtful help as your household adjusts. Overnight services offered on a limited basis.
Education on infant cues, soothing, diapering, and breast/chest/bottle-feeding basics, with specialist referrals for complex concerns.
Compassionate listening, postpartum recovery education, gentle grounding practices, and referrals to qualified clinicians when appropriate.
Simple nourishing meals, light household tasks, sibling support, and organization to make your home feel more manageable.
THE SAN DIEGO FAMILY DOULA DIFFERENCE
My approach is rooted in the belief that postpartum recovery deserves to be supported as a whole-person experience—not simply a checklist of baby-care tasks.
My herbalism background informs a thoughtful, nature-connected approach to nourishment, rest, and traditional postpartum rituals. I offer educational guidance on traditional herbal practices and postpartum wellness, with an emphasis on informed choices and safety. Herbal education is not medical prescribing or treatment.
Compassionate breast/chestfeeding and bottle-feeding education, feeding-position guidance, and support for your individual goals. For complex feeding or medical concerns, I refer to an IBCLC or appropriate healthcare professional.
My background in psychology helps shape an empathetic, attentive approach to family transitions, emotional adjustment, and recognizing when specialist support may be useful. Doula care is not psychotherapy or clinical mental health care.
Support that honors your values, feeding choices, family structure, and cultural traditions—guided by the principles of Nurture, Educate, Assess, and Refer.
A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR DOULA
I bring postpartum doula training, lactation consultant (LC) training, a background in psychology and herbal studies, and years of hands-on household management experience to families navigating the early weeks with a newborn.
My goal is simple: help you feel less alone, more capable, and more deeply supported as you settle into this new chapter.
Lactation consultant (LC), not IBCLC. Doula, herbal, and psychology-informed services are nonmedical and do not constitute clinical mental health treatment.
